Show and Tell
We have Show and Tell at our 1809 East 23rd Campbell location the third Thursday of every month but December. The schedule of Show and Tell for 2025 is the third Thursday of every month except December: January 16, February 20, March 20, April 17, May 15, & June 18 from 6 to 8pm
The entire clay community is invited to join us, you do not need to be an enrolled student or member of the Tucson Clay Co-op. This is an opportunity to get aesthetic and technical feedback on your work in a friendly safe and supportive environment.
Please come with 3 pieces in the same family. People share their work pop up style. The timer is set for 3 minutes and no one speaks - to give the work the attention it deserves.
Then pop up style we are asked to pick what we think is the strongest and weakest piece.
Words like nice, interesting, pretty, ugly are not allowed. This causes us to articulate what makes a piece strong, what makes a piece weak. It isn't easy to do, but we all learn a lot.
Kids Classes and Scholarship Opportunities
We are thrilled to be able to announce the availability of need-based full scholarships beginning January 2020.
CAUSE (a 501C3) covers the full tuition cost of a play with clay, family pottery, kids classes and summer camp listed on the Tucson Clay Co-op website.. The scholarships are valued anywhere from $135 to $158 according to recipient interest.
The application is simple, and any community member is eligible to apply for a scholarship if they can attest to personal financial need. Selection is first come, first served. Please spread the word to parents for whom tuition
would otherwise be a prohibitive financial strain.
Email tucsonclaycoop@yahoo.com for instructions on how to apply for the scholarship.
In the past we have been self sufficient by selling our collective pottery mugs & bowls to earn the money we needed to improve our beloved studio. Our 5700 square foot building on half an acre is a dream come true but also a fixer upper & an enormous amount of work. The smallest contribution would help. Our vision is to become Arizona's major clay center with great visiting clay artists and every kind of kiln (gas, wood, soda, salt, raku, pit firing as well as electric). LOL we also need volunteers!!!!
